Hi , Ankur , thare are only a few posts that have tinypic images. You can see other thumbnail plugin working side by side showing all the thumbnails , except for tiny pic one .

yes you figured it out right . Few images are being shown , but the html is breaking because of some mismatch with your plugin and wp thumbie plugin from blogsdna dot com. I hope you will bring an update to fix this to show more thumbnails. , while i will keep an eye on your plugin .

The images for our posts are not inserted directly in the post. We include the images through “Post Image” url function.

Manually Placing of Related Posts shows the plug-in twice. (I am using Thesis theme and put the code in 'thesis_hook_after_post') It appears in the right place though, what no comparable plug-in did!

I updated from 1.5 to 1.6 (version that introduced “no image” if image is served from remote server – to prevent bandwidth theft).

Even though all my images are served from my blog domain, absolutely no image thumbnails appeared for ALL POSTS (yes, I checked all my 101 posts). Confusing because I do not serve/hotlink images (well, just 1 image actually) from remote servers. Version 1.6 is broken… I had to revert back to 1.5.

One request to you to upgrade this plugin to latest version 1.7 So if you have any images from other remote server it will show no image instead of ugly image space.

I can make this plugin to show remote server images but I can't do it to prevent bandwidth theft.

Hi, I have the same bug as Massa P and it still doesn't work at all for me.

Two issues with the latest version 1.8 – seems they broke:
“Automatically Show related Posts After Post” checkbox
“Give IGIT Plugin Credit” checkbox
After clicking “Update Options” button, the selections are always enabled, even if I unchecked the boxes.

Feature/change requests:
1. In settings, to be able to specify location of my own default image that I choose (right now, I always have to hack the plugin every time there's a plugin update).

2. “Heading Text” textbox has maximum input of 60 characters. The text I want to put in there is at least 70 characters… could you increase to maybe 75?

The thumbnails don't show yet for wrdpress 3.0 and last IGIT version Version 2.1.1

I used this plugin pretty easily until I tried to look at the html code. I was surprised at how much extra coding is inserted and then how it had this little quirk of forcing the scroll bar back to the top. It seemed like it was trying to hide something. I do not recommend using any pluggin that overrides the user.

OMG! I didn't notice until today that the plugin is showing thumbnails derived from images contained in password-protected posts (PRIVATE stuff)! Please fix, asap. Thankfully, I don't have many private posts, but I was quite dismayed to see those images that are supposed to be private.

Can you tell me which extra coding you see in this plugin?

It is working in wordpress 3.0, I am using it on my 5 to 6 websites and also other users are using it on wordpress 3.0.

May be there will be some other reason your images are not showing.

Awesome plugin! Works great. Is it possible to add brief description below the title? This way in vertical format it won't have so much empty space. It would be nice if we were able to specify how many characters to allow to show from the post excerpt. Why excerpt? It's easier, because if you pull beginning of the post text sometimes we have images there, so you would have to write code to strip html tags and such… using excerpt saves on coding and file size.

Really looking forward to this feature.

Hey Guys, First of all thank you for the plugin. Heres a small mod. The plugin will only show thumb if images in the post come before text. If text comes first then image you will get no image found. To fix that this what you need to do. Open core.php find: preg_match_all('|<img.+src=['"]([^'"]+)['"].*>|i', $result->post_content, $matches); and replace with: $image=preg_match_all('|<img.+src=['"]([^'"]+)['"].*>|i', $result->post_content, $matches); also find this: if(!strstr($image,$bgurl)){

$image = WP_PLUGIN_URL . '/igit-related-posts-with-thumb-images-after-posts/images/noimage.gif'; // when no image found in post

}

and change to:

/*if(!strstr($image,$bgurl)){

$image = WP_PLUGIN_URL . '/igit-related-posts-with-thumb-images-after-posts/images/noimage.gif'; // when no image found in post

Hey once again, great plugin, but the update for September 3rd, 2010 has a problem. I’ve lost text under the thumbnails with this update. The previous version was just fine, so I’m not sure why you updated the plugin.

Hi, you changed the CSS in 3.9? becuase now on hover I see something that it wasn’t in prevoius versions, and I don’t like it.

The hover now shows a dotted link and a small color bar under.

You should set it up so you are wordpress mu/network capable.

I got it working but it required some mods to the core.php . The stock version didn’t like all the redirects.

There are no good MU related post plugins available without modifications, yours would be a great addition!

Any chance you can update this with:

1) Default image (if no image is present in the post). Random default images would be nice too :)
2) Be able to set “No Related Posts Text :” as blank (display nothing)
3) Select “sticky” related posts (ie. I’d like 1 post to be a related post on all pages). Random sticky related post would be better.

Just wanted to follow up on my comment. I really like the plugin, but it won’t show images on my site. My images are hosted on sub-domain, it’s the same domain, to increase page speed. Many bloggers do it to increase speed. I really want to use it on my site. Is there any way it can be fixed?

I want to display the related posts just on my recent entries, so i was looking for the line that i could modify so i can add a condition based on current date… something like if the post date is older than 12/01/2011 no need to display related entries

I am using typekit so i can use alternative fonts on my site. So I am using for instance Museo, ofcourse this font is not part of your drop downlist. Checked both CSS files but couldn’t find where you set the font.

I don’t mind it being hard coded, so where can I drop in the font family?

SO i looked and its actually just showing the 4 most recent posts.  My category structure is 10 categories with no hiarachy. But one category contains all posts. Is the pluggin continually reffereing to the main category or can it randomly (or deliberately) select from all the psost. As i said, i get the same for “related posts” for every post on my site and this kills what could be an amazing app!  Please help.

I’d like to point out a little bug, which it looks like I’m not the only one who experiences it.

I’ve set 777 to the cache folder, and now the images show up… partially! :-) I mean, I get maybe one or two images out of 4 related posts I wanna show up.
All posts have the same image attribute, which is set to point ABS URL to images on my server, so no outside server calls.

Can you please help?

Great plugin, absolutely love it.

Just have a few criticisms which are easily fixed relating to the css and use of class instead of id.
Basically, repeated elements have id used as identifiers/selectors which is bad practice. Only 1 id of any element should be used, while classes can be repeated. Personally made the relevant changes in 30 mins or so (can supply the changed files if you wish?

secondly, there is a lot of inline styles which again is bad practice and should ideally be kept in a seperate css file. WordPress allows css hooks to load it in the header.

Apart from that, great job, well done.

After updating, I lost all of my related post images. I tried changing an option in the plugin config and changing it back as well as deactivating and reactivating. I also tried changing the timthumb file from 644 to 777 permissions as a test and nothing worked. Any suggestions? It was working perfectly before.

The titles and images are showing up in the same space, instead of the images being above with the titles below (as shown in the screenshots).
I’m not sure how to fix it.  I’ve tried just the titles, just the “full title” etc.  With no title – the images are in the bottom of the hover box area.

How are the related posts picked by the system, is it related to keywords in the text, or are they just ramdom, as I only see the same four items displayed on all posts, is there a setting I’m missing.
