No messing, just a few clicks and you are done - it takes the worry out of it and allows you to configure EVERYTHING. PHP EXE from zzee is where it is at with compiling to PHP2EXE. There is alot of documentation and free examples floating around. It's also easy to install using GNOPE. Google those two and everything you want will be there.
